About this event
The Provincial Grand Master will be signing the Armed Forces Covenant at a ceremony to be held at 2.00pm on Tuesday June 14th 2022 in the Regimental Chapel of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the Collegiate Church of St Mary in Warwick. Lt Col Samantha Brettell from HQ West Midlands will sign on behalf of the MoD.
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire like the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) will be able to demonstrate its support to members of the Armed Forces in a number of areas, including education, family wellbeing, getting a home, starting a new career, access to healthcare and financial assistance.
Warwickshire Freemasonry like the UGLE has a strong Armed Forces background throughout its Lodges. This partnership therefore represents an important step in further supporting both active and retired military personnel.
We intend to have the British Legion Colour Party present with their Legion Standard and Union Flag and W Bro M Shanahan, a member of Lodge of St Andrew will be attending to represent the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
We wish to invite all members of the Province of Warwickshire who are serving or former members of HM Armed Forces, and anyone else who so wishes, to join us on June 14th to witness this important and public commitment of support. The dress code for the day is Uniform or Lounge Suits; decorations and awards to be worn if desired.
